We really enjoyed travelling on the bus to Zealandia. We were lucky to have some helpful parents to join us. Even though the rain came down we all had our coats and the birds didn’t seem to mind. We saw some young tuataras and a female close to her burrow. Everyone managed to walk as far as the top dam and the view was amazing. On the way back we saw Puffin and T2 the Takahe busy eating grass. Did you know they poo 7m every day? We took a look at the native fish in the outdoor tank. It was great to see all the kaka using the feeders even when we were close by. We all agreed that the fence was so important – it keeps out predators so the birds are safe.
